Arsenal target speaks about future
Viktor Gyökeres has said he will talk about his future "when the time is right," hitting out at reports over an ongoing rift between him and his club, Sporting.
Gyökeres, 27, wrote on Instagram: "There is a lot of talk at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right."
Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas insisted this week his club had not received any offers for Gyökeres but that they would only consider bids of at least €80m ($92m)
He added: "We knew Viktor's dream was to go to a club where he could fight for the Champions League, and we have common sense. We guaranteed that we would not demand the €100m."
Gyökeres is reportedly upset with Sporting CP, believing they have gone back on an agreement to allow him to move for €60m plus €10m in add-ons -- much less than his €100m release clause.

Arsenal face battle for Gyokeres
Arsenal are preparing an improved bid for Viktor Gyokeres but Manchester United have also launched a rival offer for the Sporting striker, according to reports in Portugal.
Sporting turned down Arsenal’s initial proposal worth an initial £47million plus a further £8.5m in add-ons.
Sporting have made it clear that they are willing to sell Gyokeres for less than his £85m release clause and are understood to be holding out for a fee closer to £68m.
According to Maisfutebol, Arsenal are ready to submit an improved bid to Sporting with a package worth £60m including bonuses.
The report claims that Sporting are prepared to hold another round of negotiations with Arsenal, while there is a ‘growing optimism’ in Gyokeres’ camp that a deal can be agreed between the two clubs.
It’s also claimed that United remain in the race for Gyokeres and have made it clear to Sporting that they are willing to pay £51m up front, plus a further £8.5m in add-ons.

Arsenal icon tipped for shock Mexican move
Aaron Ramsey has been released by Cardiff, paving the way for his shock move to Mexico, writes PHIL CADDEN.
The Wales captain, 34, is believed to have agreed a deal with Club Universidad Nacional - known as Pumas UNAM - after he declined the option of an extra year on his contract.
Ramsey was Bluebirds' interim boss for the final three Championship games of last season after the Welsh club sacked Omer Riza.
But the midfielder was unable to prevent relegation to League One.
Cardiff are now close to announcing Leicester assistant Brian Barry-Murphy, 46, as their new manager.
The Welsh club said in a statement: “Aaron will leave the Bluebirds this summer.
“The Welsh captain rejoined his childhood club during the summer of 2023, before taking up the role of caretaker manager for the final three games of the 2024/25 campaign. Aaron departs Cardiff City Stadium with our best wishes.”

Gunners 'leap ahead in Gyokeres hunt'
Arsenal might just have made the first major move for Viktor Gyokeres.
Portuguese outlet Record claim the Gunners have offered Sporting Lisbon £46million for the leading Prem target.
Manchester United are regarded as the goal machine's other main suitors.
Sporting supremo Frederico Varandas insisted last year Gyokeres would go for nothing less than £60m.
And if a bidding war breaks out this summer, the Swede might well fell nearer that sum than £46m.

Sesko shock
Arsenal are fearing the possibility of a bidding war for RB Leipzig ace Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko believed he would be allowed to leave Germany for around £60million.
But Leipzig are now standing firm on a fee closer to £70m, in line with his contractual release clause.
This has taken Arsenal aback, which is why they are yet to make a formal bid.
There is a concern that they could be pulled into an ever-increasing bidding war, especially with two Saudi clubs recently announcing their interest.
